I spent many years living in Santa Monica and received my gemology degree there. I had a few friends who lived in the Pacific Palisades, and to see it reduced to ashes affects me.   I wish the best of futures to all of the victims of this tragic natural disaster, and hope that the resilient Angelino  spirit rises up once again to create a better tomorrow.  Surely this was, and hopefully will continue to be, one magical place.

I believe that I have lived a pretty full and interesting life.  I have made friends and acquaintances with a number of very fine individuals, and that is foremost.  After that I would have to say that the best moments were the numerous opportunities I have had to travel and see wonderful sights with my eyes and, by extension, my cameras.  Most of what is served up here is digital, but there are the odd film captures that I was lucky enough to have scanned before losing almost all of my 35mm stock.  I haven't done so as of yet, but I may in the future do edits that will label particular shots as film, as the skill sets are somewhat similar, but definitely separate.  I will also continue labeling the locations as I find the time, as I think it helps appreciate an image in context.  I also feel that, maybe sometimes, including the dates preserves a moment in an evolving history.
